Announcement    Update April 🌷2023
Some may noticed the energy crisis in Europe. So this is why I needed to make some decisions on my bead prices. I needed clear glass and some other glass colors and I was shocked on where the prices went! I always buy a larger amount to get a better quote but only the Special Clear went up 56% !! Not only glass, but also power is getting much higher in prices - so I really hate this, but need to raise at least some prices what have been low for years! I hope so very much for your understanding and thank you a lot if you still support my little bead business as this is my only income. ♡❤️🌷

Happy New Year 2023 to everyone!! 🔥🎆🎇🎉❤️
This year is coming to an end and it was quiet an up and down - especially here on Etsy.
For the new year we have a change to tell - I'm not happy with it, but we have to do it 🥲
Because of the declaration of packaging we can not further sell to France of Spain -no exceptions, sorry!
I hope everyone is having a good new year and stay in touch with me and my beads, here, on my website or on Facebook!

NEWS update 31st, August 22
I'm going to sort out listings for made to order beads. I'm tired of the pressure Etsy is giving us sellers as they do not care about handmade products anymore! Starseller, Ads, fees on shipping costs and so on... (not to mention about disappointed people who think that 'made to order beads' will look exactly the same as the pics showing and leaving a bad review)
So I will replace made to order listings constantly against "ready to ship" items. You still will get other beads on my personal website shop: www.beadfairy.de - I would be more than happy if you switch to my own shop!
You get a discount there! Please check it out!!
Some words about prices:
Some wonder why glass beads are expensive and even especially the small beads. Let me explain, that also the small beads are hand made and need their time to be made. Not only time is a fact of matter. There are daily material costs as power and gas which are rising like hell right now!

Sometimes beads need to be made over a few times, like when they do not have proceeded the right color in the flame. Silver Glass for example is a very special glass what changes the color in the flame, depending on using high or low oxygen in the flame.
But there is one small thing that cannot be influenced and this falls under the category of meteorological influences, air pressure or density. As unbelievable as it sounds, there are days when shiny metallic silver glass almost doesn't succeed, depending on what the air pressure/density is like.
But back to the prices and the glass beads and the amount of work.
Something that also affects prices is what glass is used. There are different glassworks that vary widely in price. CIM glass is usually very expensive. Also, any glass containing silver as it contains fine silver. Pink glass is also very expensive as it contains fine gold to even get that color. There are hand drawn glasses and special colors that are not found in the conventional color palette and are accordingly expensive.
You see, there are so many factors that are used to calculate the price of glass beads.
Many glass beads are finished with 0.999 fine silver - in the form of wire or leaf/foil. There are various materials that can be combined with glass, and accordingly, they are included in the glass bead price under the heading of material costs.

Now back to the working time. Different glass beads require different laborious steps, such as stringer pulling, twisties turning, making murrinis, etc....
No matter how big a glass bead is. Each one is detached from the mandrel after the cooling time in the furnace and cleaned under running water with the Dremel. Then the beads are sorted and inspected to make sure they are sound. Now each order is carefully checked and packed, prepared for shipment and labeled. So many time-consuming steps are needed before your glass beads leave our factory.
Not to mention the currency conversion from US$ to €uro and the Etsy fees (including payment processing fees)!
All together this is the price that goes into your glass beads. From the love of making, processing, packaging and the material and operating costs. An incredible amount of time and attention to detail goes into YOUR very special glass bead!
Enjoy!
All beads are kiln annealed for strength and lifetime durability.
Thanks! :)

Frequently asked questions

Sizing details

As my beads are handmade, sizes can slightly vary! This is no reason to reclaim, except it seems obviously to be a totally different size as such beads, what are made in a bead roller or a bead press.

Care instructions

As lampwork beads are made of glass, they can crack or chip when falling on a hard ground! All on top added decoration can chip off and leave a sharp spot. Make sure to handle your beads with care. We are not responsable for any breakage and cuts as a result of careless treatment or careless storage. Make sure to cover or wrap beads with on top decoration if you store them in a container.
